Shaking

SHAKING OUT NOW ON CIA RECORDS HTX "Shaking" is a new single that tells the fictional story of a man suspended between the weight of modern life and the echoes of his past. The track and its accompanying video are built around themes of identity, memory, and survival. Visually, the self-directed video blends archival footage with new performance clips shot by Vlad Jacko and photographs by Gavin Watson. Together they create a rough and cinematic portrait stitched from the atmosphere of British youth culture. Part art film, part visual diary, the video captures a mood that is poetic, defiant, and stripped back. Set against a backdrop of 1950s to 1980s Britain, "Shaking" leans into the sound of early rock and roll, with a heavy nod to Johnny Kidd and the Pirates. It is dragged through a lens of blues and noir, drawing comparisons to Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, and Mark Lanegan. Co-produced by Nick Mailing, the track features signature Gretsch guitar tones and a rhythm that stays just the right side of collapse. Lyrically it mixes surrealism with grit. Lines like “my wishbone shattered from a fall from the family tree” and “your bulletproof youth” speak to the feeling of time pushing forward while something inside still kicks against the wall.
