Who am I?

Tim Muddiman is an English artist and musician based in Northampton.
Known for his distinctive approach to both visual art and music, Tim has built a career at the intersection of sound, image and storytelling.
In his painting practice, he explores geometric abstraction, architectural form and cinematic portraiture. His works balance precision with atmosphere, drawing on modernist design, industrial landscapes and the play of light and shadow. Figures and structures are reduced to essential shapes, evoking stillness, timelessness and quiet intensity.
Tim began painting in acrylic before moving to oil on linen over the past three years, a shift that brought greater depth and resonance to his work. His series include reimagined Soviet bus stops, geometric abstractions and portraits of stoic figures, each painting treated as part of a larger narrative about culture, memory and identity. Collectors worldwide have acquired his works and his audience continues to grow through exhibitions, online platforms and appearances at Saatchi Art’s The Other Art Fair.
Alongside his visual art, Tim is a long-standing musician. For two decades he toured internationally with Gary Numan and Pop Will Eat Itself, while also releasing solo material and collaborative projects. In 2025 he returns with new music on CIA Records in Houston, pairing gritty guitar driven songs with the same sense of atmosphere and structure that defines his art. He is also a contributing writer for Blitzed Magazine, where he explores the cultural interplay between art and music.
Through painting, music and writing, Tim Muddiman pursues a single vision: creating work that feels timeless, resonant and built to endure.
