Divisions is a new body of work exploring how light breaks the world into separate planes. Each painting looks at the way shadow and structure cut across surfaces, creating spaces that are both fractured and connected.
Working in oil on canvas, I have kept the compositions sharp and minimal, drawing on architectural geometry while allowing colour to soften the edges. The contrasts are deliberate: hard lines against soft tones, stillness against tension.
The series began with small observations of light falling across walls and corners. From there it grew into a set of five works that balance abstraction with memory. The titles, pieces like Corner Field and Shadow Plane, suggest a place but remain open for the viewer to find their own reading.
Divisions is less about one story and more about a rhythm. It is the rhythm of light cutting through space, of forms shifting as the day moves. Each canvas holds a moment where those lines fall into place.
